There is a phrase so ancient, so foundational, so eternal in its weight that the entire counsel of God rests upon it. In the beginning. Three simple words that open the book of Genesis, and three simple words that open the Gospel of John. This is no coincidence. This is divine architecture. God said what He meant and meant what He said, and it is the purpose of this book to let Scripture open Scripture — to allow the eternal Word of God to interpret itself without the aid of human wisdom or commentary.
