The modern world operates under a great and comforting delusion: the belief that human history is a linear march of disconnected milestones, a series of random transitions from primitive agriculture to industrial factories, and finally to clean, sterile silicon data networks. This perspective treats the ancient past as a museum exhibit, completely detached from the sleek glass skyscrapers and fiber-optic cables of the twenty-first century. But history is not a series of scattered fragments. It is a single, unbroken spiritual and technological continuum. The ambitions of mankind have never mutated; they have only waited for the tools precise enough to fulfill them.
